Entry: Why Are Oceans Salty? Nov 19, 2003

~One reason is the runoff comming down hill. As this process happens, it collects minerals from the river beds, and soon, the streams and rivers eventually deposit into the oceans.
~Another reason was through the process of land erosion. The streams and rivers eroded the land masses, and also collected minerals. Again evntually, this water too deposited into the oceans.
~Salt also comes from the solid and gaceous materials, that escape the Earth's crust through volcanic vents.
